Skin cancer treatments for superficial or early-stage cases focus on destroying or eliminating cancer cells without the need for surgical procedures. Early detection is often more treatable and may require less aggressive treatment options. Regular skin checks allow healthcare professionals to identify potential skin cancer at its earliest and most curable stage.

CAUSES FOR SKIN CANCER TREATMENT –EARLY STAGE

Prolonged or excessive exposure to UV radiation from the sun or tanning beds is the leading cause of skin cancer

Getting sunburned, especially during childhood or adolescence, increases the risk of skin cancer.

Even occasional severe sunburns can significantly raise the risk

of running: beds and lamps expose the skin to high levels of UV radiation

People with fair or light skin are more susceptible to UV damage

Individuals who have previously had skin cancer are at an increased risk of developing additional skin cancers

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) can be treated with surgical excision. Superficial BCCs may be treated non-surgically with options like topical creams (imiquimod or 5-fluorouracil) or photodynamic therapy (PDT)

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is typically treated with surgical excision. However, for early and superficial SCCs, options like PDT or electrodesiccation and curettage may be considered

Melanoma is a more aggressive form of skin cancer and is primarily treated with surgery. In advanced cases, immunotherapy or targeted therapy drugs may be used alongside surgery or as an alternative
